Fitch Hill Inn
Come and experience the tranquility of our 18th century Vermont home. This historic inn has lovely views and is located on over 3 quiet, off-highway acres at the cross-roads of scenic VT 100 and VT 15, providing easy access to Stowe, Smugglers' Notch, the Northeast Kingdom, and all of northern Vermont.
The inn is surrounded by gardens in the summer, and you may enjoy strolling through the woods behind the inn. Relax on two covered porches, the three level deck, or in Adirondack chairs on the lawn. We also have driving tours available to guests to provide some direction in you explorations. Looking for covered bridges? There's a tour for that!
All of the rooms have private baths and views of the Green Mountains, the forest and gardens, or both, TVs with cable & a DVD player, and free wi-fi. The suites have fireplaces, two-person whirlpool tubs, and butlers kitchens as well.
If the weather is not amenable for outdoor relaxing, you can read or play games or just surf the internet in the living room or parlor or watch a movie from our DVD collection. We want you to make yourselves at home. Come and relax away from the hubbub of everyday life, or just rest up after a busy day enjoying Vermont’s wonderful outdoor activities and shopping.
A full hot breakfast is served in the dining room every morning on a flexible schedule. We are happy to prepare meals to meet any special diets, or at special times to accommodate your schedule. Breakfast includes fruit, muffins or sweet breads, and a main dish such as Stuffed French Toast or John’s Savory Egg Casserole.
Your hosts are Julie and John Rohleder. We made the transition to innkeepers after John retired from the Air Force. Julie trained and worked as an engineer, and still manages any projects done at the inn. Originally for Long Island & Pennsylvania, John's career took him from South Dakota to South Korea. Julie joined him when he moved to southern California, thence to Germany, thence to South Carolina. You see we had to make the change to Northern Vermont. We have traveled extensively in the past and have tried to incorporate the amenities we found important into our inn for our guests.
